Timeout for an Advertisement

After buying our new 17’ Liberty Deluxe Casita in 2008, I started this blog to document our travels thru comments and photos. I only found a couple of blogs by Casita owners at that time, so I also wanted to blog about the things we bought, used, & did right or wrong, plus the places we went & things we saw & did, in order to help others (not just Casita owners) make good decisions about traveling and/or living in an RV.

After five contented years with our Casita, two of which have been our only home while we travel, visit, & work around the US. I’ve spent my spare time reading numerous ebook mysteries; arranging & rearranging the interior of the trailer; doing normal cleaning & reorganizing; knitting & making macramé projects; reading email, blogs, & now Facebook; TV watching; napping; walking dog; photographing; & playing lots of Spider solitaire & Sudoku games. Occasionally I do some yoga, stretching, & strength exercises (with plans to learn Tai Chi). . .but I STILL have periods of boredom. I’ve wondered if I’m getting depressed, but think it’s more just hitch itch after three months in the same place. I’m restless & want to see something different — both untraveled roads with new sights as well as those all so familiar places. Just want to feel the thrill of moving down the road. I’m starting to think we need 3-4 months of winter desert living, 3-4 months of summer mountain living, & 2 swing seasons of visiting friends & family.

In the meantime, I need a new project to engage my mind so I’ve decided to see if I can commercialize this blog a bit. My apologies. I hope this doesn’t discourage anyone from following our adventures. I don’t want to write a book or do continual projects, so these static promotions are the best I can come up with. They’re all listed on the sidebar all the time, & only mentioned here for this once. See what you think.

Because we live in such a small space, I like e-books (anything digital actually). I don’t want to promote Amazon products because RVSue is already doing that. Thankfully, there are a number of useful RV-related ebooks available elsewhere on the web that I feel might be of interest to both fulltime & weekend RVers (or wannabees). I get a small commission if anyone buys an ebook thru my links. I can’t vouch for any of these, so please let me know your experience with any of these ebooks.

This concludes the advertising, & this blog will return to it’s normal subjects. Thanks for hanging with me. Smile

  1. Hey! I have a great project for you.....if you are bored. Why don't you start writing your memoir?

You have a great story to tell!

    1. Nah, I've had a pretty boring life. Can't see making a book out of it.

  2. Your blog is interesting, informative and a very useful resource. I think your idea to monetize the site is fine. It would be even better if you read through the ebooks and gave critiques, as well

  3. I read your blog and others about RV's when I am fantasizing about getting away. My husband & I have a small travel trailer we love , but thus far, not much time to get away. I love reading blogs with plenty of pictures of their RV's , especially decorating and living in small spaces. Thank-you for this list.

  5. If anyone has a story or gift of knowledge....let it shine! I'll sign up! Tending to my sis right now then home for doc recheck...fingers crossed! Mods and FIXES. Riding now with the bikes in the Casita...crap. Almost didn't get the hose out to dump. You have lots to offer and might as well get some compensation. Every little bit helps!

    1. Well, that's a 'visual' regarding the hose, for sure. Sounds like the bikes need to ride outside somehow. When we left our house for the last time, I had lots of things to take to my parents' basement (our first stop). The trailer was literally stuffed full. We were greeted by two small, stacked night stands right inside the door. It sure took a lot of work to get everything out just so we could get to our bed that night. (Yes, we always sleep in our Casita when visiting anyone. . .cause it's MY bed.)

  6. There's nothing wrong with you using Amazon as others do. It wouldn't hurt to give it a try. Amazon is very helpful to get you set up and started. They can also help you get started selling you e books.
