Brown Co State Fishing Lake

Since the weather was still cool without being downright cold yet, we went to Brown Co State Fishing Lake the weekend after Atchison Fishing Lake to see how it compared.

Most all of the KS Fishing Lakes have gravel jetties out into the lakes, for camping & fishing, most with fire rings & picnic tables.  Not much shade though so it could be sweltering in the sun. We managed one of the few jetties with a tree (on the south, we backed in toward the east).
The Friday night we arrived, the wind started kicking up fiercely.  The lake is in a little valley amongst corn fields so there isn’t much protection from those famous Kansas winds. By Saturday afternoon, getting a fire going or cooking outside on the grill was difficult, so we decided to pack it up & head home.
Those winds caused some serious fog on the lake Saturday morning though, & as the sun was trying to burn thru, I managed to get this perfect photo of two eager fishermen.
