Viking Lake, IA

Because the weather was just perfect for dry camping, we hit on the idea of heading up to Iowa as soon as we got home from camping at Atchison Fishing Lake.  This gave us an opportunity to check on the house, mail, & cats, plus replenish food & clothes, & pick up a few other things we’d forgotten.  So — off we went for a 2 hr drive north. . .into Iowa.

We wanted to camp here because of some of the sites backed right up to the upper portion of the Lake.  However, the camp sites were much closer together than what we’ve enjoyed boondocking.  But the humidity started climbing on the 2nd day, so was very comfortable having power for the A/C.
